About the position
The Senior Public Policy Advisor to the Commissioner plays a crucial role in the Division of Insurance, reporting directly to the Commissioner of Insurance. This position is responsible for developing and recommending public policy initiatives related to insurance regulation in Massachusetts. The advisor will collaborate with senior staff and external stakeholders to address emerging policy issues and ensure the Division's regulatory duties are met effectively.
Responsibilities
- Act as primary public policy advisor to the Commissioner of Insurance on various insurance public policy topics.
- Make recommendations on the development of state, regional, and national policy based on market conditions and consumer interests.
- Collaborate with senior staff, government stakeholders, and public policy experts to identify and propose insurance policy initiatives.
- Work with professional organizations to achieve consistency and fairness in insurance and healthcare policy.
Requirements
- At least six years of professional experience in business administration, public administration, or related fields.
- Two years of experience in a project management, supervisory, or managerial capacity.
- Comprehensive knowledge of insurance law and regulations.
- Experience dealing with high-level government officials.
