About the position

The Senior Public Relations Manager at Stanley Black & Decker will support the Tools & Outdoor division, primarily focusing on the DEWALT brand. This hybrid role involves developing and executing PR strategies, managing media relations, and collaborating with various internal teams to enhance brand visibility and engagement. The position requires a deep understanding of the construction industry and trades professionals, along with the ability to communicate complex technical information in an accessible manner.

Responsibilities

  • Research, write and review news releases, media alerts, bylined articles, fact sheets, and white papers.
  • Proactively present creative PR initiatives and lead execution of broad campaigns with support from internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit entries for product reviews and awards.
  • Collaborate with global brand and regional marketing teams to amplify PR activities.
  • Plan and manage in-person and virtual SBD-owned events with cross-functional teams.
  • Ideate and execute a 12-month PR plan.
  • Lead strategic development of story angles with an emphasis on brand storytelling.
  • Pitch story ideas and serve as a resource to media contacts.
  • Support planning and execution of third-party media events and trade shows.
  • Respond to media inquiries and maintain strong media relationships.
  • Manage product requests and trade-out agreements.
  • Coordinate media interviews with internal thought leaders.
  • Lead media training within the organization and create briefing documents.
  • Maintain online newsrooms and prepare media kits as needed.
  • Liaise with global counterparts for campaign alignment and best practices.
  • Support issues communications and manage measurement/reporting analytics.
  • Manage vendor relationships and budgets.
  • Work closely with corporate PR team to support corporate initiatives.
  • Stay informed of pertinent industry news.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Public Relations, Communications, or Journalism required.
  • 7+ years of experience in Public Relations or Marketing; agency experience is a plus.
  • Experience in B2B and/or B2C environments.
  • Baseline knowledge of construction and trades is a bonus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of Cision, PRNewsWire, Notified, Meltwater or other monitoring services.
  • Experience working with influencers and high visibility campaigns.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with experience in Media Relations.
  • Self-starter with a proven track record in Public Relations.
  • Ability to simplify highly technical products for broader audiences.
