About the position

Ibotta is seeking a Senior Public Relations Manager to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. This person will be responsible for establishing overall proactive public relations and external communications strategies -- including earned media, editorial-driven paid media, top tier speaking opportunities, awards and PR agency management -- for both the consumer and B2B sides of the business. This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States. In this role, you will work closely with the executive management team and cross-functional leaders to establish comprehensive public relations and external communications strategies for the company. You will conceptualize and implement proactive, 360-degree PR campaigns that encompass paid, earned, social, and owned elements to strengthen the Ibotta brand and support the company's growth-oriented business goals. Your responsibilities will include developing compelling story angles, thought leadership content, and programs that maximize media exposure across both traditional and non-traditional media outlets, focusing on core and emerging businesses. You will manage resources effectively to ensure maximum exposure and cost efficiency in all communications efforts, including service vendors, agencies, and staff resources. Collaboration with cross-functional partners, including HR, Social, Business Development, and Community teams, will be essential to build and deploy strategic messaging programs. Additionally, you will own the agency evaluation and review process to determine the appropriate partners to drive maximum exposure, thought leadership, and brand positioning effectiveness. Your role will also involve ensuring consistent and appropriate use of the company name and likeness in media commentary, press releases, promotions, and partnerships. You will need to continually research and react to internal and external communications needs, providing constant and candid feedback to the Executive Team and HR about potential issues, threats, and opportunities. Planning, managing, and preparing the department's budget will also be part of your responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Work with the executive management team and cross functional leaders to establish overall public relations and external communications strategies for the company.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of communications/marketing experience. Previous experience in the Tech, FinTech, or B2B space preferred.
  • B.A. in Communications, Marketing or related field preferred.
  • Technical skills: journalist writing style (AP) knowledge. Ability to leverage data to develop content and evaluate the effectiveness of programs. Work processing, spreadsheet applications, presentation software and Internet proficiency. Desktop publishing software knowledge.
  • Prior media spokesperson experience is preferred.
  • Proven leadership ability in building and developing a cohesive team.
  • Demonstrated excellence in both verbal and written communications is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, summarizing abilities, prioritizing skills and developed interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Desire to work in a fast paced environment, with an ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to leverage both traditional and non-traditional media opportunities.
