The Senior Public Relations Specialist will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the external communications strategy for M&T Bank, particularly within the New England Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that promote bank-related products, services, activities, decisions, policies, and personnel. In this hybrid position, the Senior Public Relations Specialist will serve as the content manager for the bank's social media platforms, including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Responsibilities will include recommending strategies, developing, scheduling, and posting content, as well as editing photos and graphics. The specialist will also manage key vendor relationships, including external public relations agencies and technology service providers, while coordinating with internal compliance and marketing departments to ensure all communications are aligned with the bank's standards and regulations. Additionally, the role involves managing, tracking, and analyzing media coverage, producing external communications such as press releases, talking points, speeches, and community news. The specialist will need to anticipate and respond to media inquiries and issues, developing trusted contacts within the organization and with key media, community, and government partners. Coordination with marketing and charitable departments to plan and execute media events, such as press conferences and community sponsorship programs, will also be a key responsibility. The Senior Public Relations Specialist will provide advice and support to other regions and departments, ensuring a cohesive approach to public relations across the bank.
