About the position

The Senior Purchasing Manager for Indirect Procurement at Rivian is responsible for sourcing and managing software and Software as a Service (SaaS) suppliers. This role involves overseeing commercial aspects of business awards and renewals, negotiating software licensing agreements, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. The manager will conduct spend analysis, evaluate software performance, and ensure cost targets are met while adhering to aggressive timelines. The position requires a proactive approach to the sourcing process, from supplier identification to contract execution, and reports to the Manager of IT Software within the Indirect Procurement Organization.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and managing Software (on-prem & SaaS) sub-categories.
• Negotiating software licensing agreements with minimal legal support.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to meet technical requirements and track sourcing progress.
• Facilitating the strategic sourcing process independently, including supplier identification and contract negotiation.
• Supporting business stakeholders with new purchases, renewals, and amendments against aggressive timelines.
• Performing detailed analysis of supplier quotations based on cost breakdowns.
• Leading sourcing projects and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (MBA in Supply Chain Management preferred).
• 8+ years of relevant IT-related software licensing experience.
• 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, cost analysis, and contract negotiations in an indirect procurement environment.
• Experience with ERP systems and purchase order processing, preferably Coupa.
• Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems, preferably Ironclad.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
• Strong multi-tasking skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and a customer service approach.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Hardware, Telecom, and Professional Services sourcing.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing sourcing strategies.
