About the position

The Senior Purchasing Manager at CACI is responsible for leading and managing the procurement team to ensure efficient and high-quality material purchases for the C5ISR Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This role involves developing strategic procurement visions, enhancing stakeholder relationships, and streamlining procurement processes while fostering a culture of accountability and innovation within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and empower the procurement team to build morale and foster a culture of appreciation.
  • Enhance relationships with internal and external stakeholders to establish trust and demonstrate efficient purchasing capabilities.
  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for procurement that aligns with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to anticipate and fulfill procurement needs, managing resources effectively.
  • Streamline and optimize procurement processes by implementing best practices and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Act as a primary problem-solver for complex procurement issues, demonstrating effective decision-making.
  • Review purchase requests, gather and evaluate quotes, and guide team members through procurement processes.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, integrity, and innovation within the procurement team.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance with eligibility to upgrade to a TS/SCI.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) with at least 5 years of experience, or 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven leadership skills, including team management and mentorship.
  • Deep understanding of federal procurement regulations and requirements, including FAR/DFARS.
  • Analytical mindset to evaluate supplier performance, costs, and risks.
  • Proven track record of process improvement and enhancing stakeholder confidence.
  • Expert negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to make independent, strategic decisions under pressure.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with submitting IT hardware and software through Army & DoD approval processes.
  • Experience purchasing IT items via the Computer Hardware Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) process.
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Army (DA) receiving procedures and forms.
  • CACI Procure to Pay (P2P) purchasing tool experience.
