About the position

The Senior Purchasing Manager at Schneider is responsible for overseeing the organization's purchasing, procurement, and contracting processes. This role involves leading a team of purchasing associates and developing strong vendor relationships to enhance the company's procurement strategies and supplier management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to direct reports and foster a high-performing work environment.
  • Provide insight to the executive team regarding purchasing strategies and supplier relationships to help with key business decisions.
  • Work with senior leadership to implement purchasing, supplier and contract controls across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain technology supplier relationships and negotiate favorable solutions.
  • Implement strategies, processes and procedures for procurement standards.
  • Identify cost-savings opportunities for various business sectors.
  • Lead complex and high-value contracts, purchases and services to achieve the best value for the organization.
  • Create and adhere to annual budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or finance.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Experience with negotiating.
  • Understanding of software licensing principles and supplier programs.
  • Knowledge of commercial contracts.
