About the position

The Senior Python/AI Developer at American National is responsible for developing and implementing AI models focused on document digitization and natural language processing. This role involves utilizing technologies such as Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPT), and Azure AI services to enhance operational efficiency and automate processes. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain documentation, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of AI models.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement AI models for document digitization using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and RAG technologies using Azure document intelligence/ WatsonX.
• Design, develop, and implement AI models using Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPT) to create natural language processing (NLP) solutions using Azure AI services / WatsonX AI services.
• Implement AI-driven solutions to automate manual processes and enhance operational efficiency.
• Integrate AI solutions with existing applications to streamline workflows and improve process efficiency.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for AI models and integration processes.
• Create CI/CD pipelines to deploy AI models seamlessly into the Cloud platform.
• Test and validate AI models to ensure accuracy and reliability in real-world scenarios.
• Analyze and process large volumes of documents to train and refine AI models.
• Stay current with industry best practices and trends in AI development to continuously improve our technology stack.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize AI solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of information technology development experience
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in developing and deploying AI models, particularly in the context of OCR/RAG and GPT
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python and Java
• Familiarity with REST APIs and integrating AI models into applications
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud platforms for deploying AI solutions
• Knowledge in WatsonX and Watson Machine Learning
• Familiarity with IBM BPM or any other workflow automation tools.
