About the position

TEKsystems is seeking 10 Senior Python Developers to support a financial client that is currently automating its frameworks to test internal processes against operational risk. The ideal candidates will be technically minded problem solvers who are eager to work across various functional areas to drive the development of next-generation tests and provide effective challenges to existing business processes and controls. In this role, you will proactively collaborate with stakeholders across the company to gather requirements, understand business processes, and assess the existing control landscape. You will be responsible for designing tests and implementing them to meet the specified requirements. Understanding and executing activities that form the end-to-end test development life cycle is crucial. You will be expected to think creatively beyond current industry standards to develop innovative approaches to testing operational and compliance risk. Your responsibilities will also include delivering high-quality code, identifying opportunities to enhance documentation, codebases, and software development life cycle (SDLC) processes, and participating in appropriate review and challenge steps in the development process. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving existing tests and processes, effectively communicating proposed solutions. Additionally, you will produce clear and coherent technical documentation for both internal and regulatory purposes, taking ownership to deliver results and meet critical deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively work with stakeholders across the company to collect requirements and understand business processes.
  • Determine how to appropriately design tests followed by test implementations to meet the requirements.
  • Execute activities that form the end-to-end test development life cycle.
  • Develop innovative approaches to testing of operational and compliance risk.
  • Deliver high-quality code and identify opportunities to improve documentation, codebases, and SDLC processes.
  • Participate in review and challenge steps in the development process.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing tests/processes and communicate proposed solutions effectively.
  • Produce clear and coherent technical documentation for internal and regulatory purposes.
  • Take ownership to deliver results and meet critical deadlines.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in a highly technical discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or Operations Research.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent educational training.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong programming skills including SQL and Python.
  • Strong technical writing and clear verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present findings, data, and conclusions to influence senior leaders.
  • Ability to work in a large, complex organization and influence various stakeholders and partners.
  • Strong team player able to transition between individual contributions and team collaboration.
  • Ownership and accountability for delivering high-quality work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Well organized with attention to detail.

  • Experience building automation tooling optimized for large datasets.
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data in various storage solutions.
