About the position

Cognizant's Digital Engineering practice is seeking a Senior Python Developer with a strong background in AWS. This role involves collaborating with product managers, designers, and clients to deliver valuable software solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mentoring junior engineers, ensuring application security, optimizing system performance, and driving the adoption of best practices in software development. The position is pivotal in developing scalable and efficient software solutions that meet business needs and enhance client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and propose their adoption where beneficial to our projects.
  • Ensure the security of our applications by integrating best-in-class security practices.
  • Optimize existing systems for improved performance and scalability.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues as they arise.
  • Provide technical leadership in the planning and execution of projects.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
  • Lead the design and implementation of software solutions using AWS and Python, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project specifications and requirements.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in code quality, testing, and maintainability.
  • Commit to achieving project goals and deadlines.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience as a software engineer proficient in AWS and Python.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Hands-on development experience in Python, AWS, Flask, and other Python modules.
  • Experience in the Payer domain is advantageous but not mandatory.
