About the position

Cognizant Digital Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join a collaborative and diverse team focused on building innovative cloud-based software solutions. The position is hybrid, based in Richmond, VA, and requires a strong background in Python development and AWS technologies.

Responsibilities

• Write production-level software in Python, ensuring high quality and performance.
• Develop and support the middle layer of a software application platform, focusing on RESTful microservices.
• Design solutions, write code, and automate testing and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and identify potential issues early in the development cycle.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide technical solutions that align with business objectives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience working as a Python developer.
• 3+ years of experience in AWS.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming language, including experience with frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Experience with Python testing frameworks like Pytest and unit test modules.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document processes effectively.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery processes.
• Analytical and self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively within a global team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS Lambdas and AWS Step Functions.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
