About the position

The Senior Python/Perl Developer role is a contract position focused on migrating batch and ETL code from Perl to Python. This position is part of a software development team that supports various technology stacks and aims to align with preferred technologies. The developer will engage with team members and operational partners to ensure functionality and will primarily focus on Python coding while also needing to read and understand existing Perl code.

Responsibilities

• Migrate existing batch/ETL code from Perl to Python.
• Engage with fellow developers and operational partners to validate functionality.
• Participate in design reviews with peers.
• Conduct testing of fixes and enhancements.
• Utilize JIRA and Bitbucket for project management and version control.

Requirements

• Extensive Python coding skills.
• Ability to read and understand Perl code for translation to Python.
• Experience with Microsoft Transact SQL.
• Design and architecture experience for ETL processes.
• Familiarity with MongoDB is beneficial.
• Experience developing in an Agile methodology.
