About the position

The Senior Python/Perl Developer will be part of a software development team focused on migrating batch and ETL code from Perl to Python. This role requires extensive Python coding skills and the ability to read and translate Perl code. The developer will engage with fellow developers and operational partners to validate functionality, contributing to the overall framework development for ETL processes.

Responsibilities

• Migrate existing batch/ETL code from Perl to Python.
• Read and translate Perl code into Python.
• Engage with fellow developers and operational partners to validate functionality.
• Participate in design reviews with peers.
• Conduct testing of fixes and enhancements.
• Utilize JIRA and Bitbucket for project management.

Requirements

• Extensive Python coding skills.
• Ability to read Perl code for translation to Python.
• Experience with Microsoft Transact SQL.
• Design/Architecture experience for ETL processes.
• Experience with MongoDB is beneficial.
• Experience developing in an Agile methodology.
• Good verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with reading Perl code.
