About the position

The Senior Python/Perl Developer will be part of a software development team focused on migrating batch and ETL code from Perl to Python. This role requires extensive coding in Python and the ability to read and translate Perl code, while also engaging with operational partners to validate functionality. The position emphasizes collaboration, design, and architecture for ETL processes, with a strong focus on using Microsoft Transact SQL and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Migrate existing batch/ETL code from Perl to Python.
• Read and translate Perl code into Python.
• Engage with fellow developers and operational partners to validate functionality.
• Participate in design and architecture discussions for ETL processes.
• Conduct testing and fix issues as they arise.
• Attend meetings and design reviews with peers.

Requirements

• Extensive Python coding skills.
• Ability to read Perl code for translation to Python.
• Experience with Microsoft Transact SQL.
• Design/architecture experience for ETL processes.
• Familiarity with MongoDB is beneficial.
• Experience developing in an Agile methodology.
• Proficiency in using JIRA and Bitbucket.
