About the position

The Senior QA Analyst at Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. is responsible for executing and creating test plans and scripts for new products or enhancements. This role involves defining comprehensive testing scenarios, performing various types of testing, and ensuring that testing projects are completed on schedule and within budget. The analyst will also serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments, support established testing procedures, and mentor less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and create test plans and clear, concise scripts for new products or enhancements.
  • Define comprehensive scenarios and variations in data to adequately perform testing.
  • Schedule and perform functional, integration, regression, and release testing.
  • Submit errors and issues to development for correction and retest once errors have been corrected.
  • Report test results and status as appropriate.
  • Track defects and causal analyses to closure.
  • Review and certify test results of other analysts and testers.
  • Review and provide feedback on requirements, design, or scope documents.
  • Help set standards for test design.
  • Interact with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and development teams to identify and refine test requirements.
  • Coordinate and perform highly complex testing projects from initiation through delivery.
  • Ensure that testing projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments to ensure that all targets and requirements are met.
  • Support and advocate established testing procedures and may provide input to establish those procedures.
  • Prepare test plans and test scripts for software corrections and enhancements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and report test activities of others as assigned.
  • Perform test reviews.
  • Develop and create test design frameworks and teach team members how to implement testing processes.
  • Keep abreast of software industry 'Best Practices' and trends and communicate new information to QA team.
  • Assist with automated scripts from team members.
  • Assist with education and training regarding software enhancements and conveying corrections to other employees.
  • Lead education and training, alpha and beta testing, and changes for documentation update or correction.
  • Cross-train and mentor less experienced QA team members.
  • Create and maintain test libraries, databases, and test environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Applications, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 6 years of experience in quality assurance, software testing, or related occupation.
  • 3 years of experience with SQL, Quality Center, and ALM, including demonstrated experience in automated, functional, regression and performance testing; Web Services; and banking/financial services or financial technology industry.
