About the position

The Senior QA Automation Engineer at Deloitte is responsible for leading and executing test orchestration across the software development lifecycle (SDLC). This role emphasizes collaboration and problem-solving, allowing the engineer to work closely with product teams to enhance quality engineering automation. The position involves designing, coding, testing, deploying, and maintaining automation solutions while also leading junior staff and managing client engagement workstreams focused on process improvement and operational outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and independently completing test orchestration across the SDLC.
  • Translating business requirements and processes into technical requirements and configuration settings for software applications.
  • Collecting and escalating information needed from product teams, primarily U.S.-based.
  • Collaborating across product teams to support and enhance quality engineering automation.
  • Responsible for Quality Chapter deliverables including traceability, automation coverage, environment capabilities, reporting, and analysis.
  • Designing, coding, testing, deploying, and maintaining testing automation solutions for business functionality.
  • Leading a work stream which may include directing the work of junior staff.
  • Communicating regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and/or technical teams.
  • Independently and collaboratively leading client engagement workstreams focused on improvement, optimization, and transformation of processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of Automation Testing experience with automation tools such as Selenium, UI testing, Webservices Testing.
  • 6+ years' experience with Java or design, code, test, deploy, and maintain automation solutions.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience creating and executing automation test scripts in programming/development.
  • Experience with system/integration/user acceptance testing.
  • Experience with testing plans, documentation, process, and testing execution on multiple development deliverables.
  • Ability to lead and manage resources across different testing disciplines.
