About the position

The Senior QA Automation Engineer at Digital Turbine will be part of a dedicated team responsible for shipping high-scale and high-availability services, SDKs, and features that impact millions of users daily. This role involves owning features end-to-end, developing test metrics, researching new testing approaches, and collaborating closely with Development and Product Management to create a comprehensive test strategy. The engineer will play a crucial role in defining the quality of features and making the final decision on product releases.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end and develop accurate test metrics to determine coverage and test effectiveness.
• Research and implement new test approaches and actively share knowledge across the team.
• Work closely with Development and Product Management to understand features and implementation details.
• Develop a comprehensive test strategy based on feature usage models.
• Define the ship quality of features and make the final 'ship it' call.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in testing features and shipping products as part of a team.
• Experience in Appium for mobile app automation.
• Knowledge of Android using Java and/or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with a bug management system (i.e. JIRA).
• Strong testing aptitude with the ability to identify test cases beyond obvious functionality.
• Excellent communication and prioritization skills.
• Familiarity with consuming web services and using RESTful APIs using Postman and related tools.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, or JSON in a testing or development capacity.
• Practical experience in at least one specialized area of testing (e.g. performance, usability, compliance).
• Familiarity with Agile software practices.
• Previous experience in software quality assurance, including mobile application testing using Android/Kotlin.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with web-based test tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Experience with API testing.
• Previous ad tech experience.
