About the position

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer at Rue Gilt Groupe, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our e-commerce platform, which serves over 30 million customers. This position involves collaborating with a dynamic QA team to implement innovative testing strategies and enhance the overall quality of our software products. You will be responsible for testing various layers of the codebase, mentoring team members, and contributing to a culture of excellence in software testing.

Responsibilities

  • Influence the building of software before it's built, finding ways to insert quality into all aspects of the business
  • Test all layers of the codebase with a focus on APIs, database validation and enterprise software using a variety of testing techniques
  • Collaborate closely with peers as part of a context-driven, agile feature team
  • Help to evolve our culture of excellence in software testing by mentoring, sharing skills, and experiences
  • Prepare and manage test documentation and reporting mechanisms to share with the team

Requirements

  • Experience in testing modern web browsers, mobile applications, and microservices using tools such as Postman, Charles Proxy, ReadyAPI, and similar technologies
  • Strong sense of ownership for the quality of your product
  • Strong working knowledge of source control, coding languages, and frameworks used for software testing tools
  • Preferred coding experience in JavaScript, Python, or Java
  • Expertise in using or developing within frameworks such as WebDriverIO, Appium, or Cucumber
  • Experience evaluating and implementing scalable automation tools and frameworks to support CI/CD/CT pipelines
  • Preferred background in integrating testing pipelines using Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild & CodeDeploy
  • Proven experience in building, customizing, and managing complex test environments
  • Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive suites of automated tests
  • Proven ability to mentor, train, and collaborate effectively with team members from diverse skill sets and backgrounds
  • Fluency in English

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with device testing solutions such as AWS Device Farm or similar services
