About the position

PrismHR is seeking a Quality Assurance professional with deep expertise in the PEO industry, particularly in payroll and benefits software. This role focuses on enhancing the quality of PrismHR's software solutions by applying domain knowledge to develop and execute comprehensive test scenarios. Candidates do not need formal QA experience but should have a strong desire to learn software testing best practices. Opportunities are available at various levels depending on prior experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and execute detailed test scenarios for PrismHR products based on real-world user interactions.
  • Learn and apply software industry standard quality assurance practices, including test case design and defect reporting.
  • Enhance the QA team's understanding of PEO subject matter through training and mentoring.
  • Create realistic test data for testing purposes.
  • For senior roles, deliver and track progress on testing schedules in fast-paced project environments.
  • Summarize testing status and propose mitigation strategies for identified risks.
  • Employ risk management to develop comprehensive test strategies for projects.
  • Collaborate with automation engineers to identify areas for test automation.
  • Analyze and report on application issues, maintaining documentation on project issues and defect metrics.
  • Collaborate on process improvement initiatives within the SQA team and across product development.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in the PEO industry with hands-on experience in payroll and benefits management software.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in documenting and conveying standard operating procedures.
  • Experience in mentoring and training others.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in using PC and/or Mac from an end-user perspective.
  • Comfortable with browser-based software applications and office suites.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior software coding, testing, or technical support experience.
  • Experience with user acceptance testing or participation in a software beta program.
  • Project leadership or management experience.
