About the position

As a Senior QA Engineer on the US Risk Technology team at CIBC, you will be responsible for designing and executing tests to ensure high-quality software delivery for risk management. Your primary focus will be on testing ETL workflows using SQL, Talend, and Databricks, particularly in the context of anti-money laundering and capital stress testing tools. You will also work towards automating testing processes integrated with DevOps pipelines, contributing to the enhancement of CIBC's risk management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into test cases.
• Design and execute end-to-end test plans.
• Raise defects for developers in the issue management system.
• Prepare software development lifecycle (SDLC) documentation.
• Apply SQL skills to interpret requirements and validate data feeds.
• Introduce automated testing integrated with DevOps tooling.
• Apply knowledge of banking and risk management to understand business problems.
• Build trusted working relationships with business stakeholders and technology partners.
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences with precision and clarity.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and regulatory developments.

Requirements

• Experience in Quality Assurance with both manual testing and automation frameworks.
• Experience with DevOps tooling such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, TeamCity, or GitHub.
• Broad technical familiarity with cloud computing, preferably Azure, and relational databases.
• Understanding of banking fundamentals and exposure to anti-money laundering, risk management, capital stress testing, credit risk models, and regulatory compliance.

Nice-to-haves

• Valid Microsoft Certified: Azure fundamentals certification.
• Experience in Talend.
