About the position

The Senior QA Engineer will be part of the Cisco Security Innovation team, focusing on building and testing Cisco's Hypershield solution. This role involves identifying testing areas, developing methodologies, and collaborating with various teams to ensure product quality in a dynamic, agile environment. The engineer will take ownership of quality processes and innovate testing methodologies for network security products.

Responsibilities

• Identify areas that need testing and develop methodologies to execute them.
• Collaborate closely with Developers, Project Managers, and Program Managers to track quality and define a DevTest strategy.
• Work in an agile environment with minimal bureaucracy to drive the next evolution of security at Cisco.
• Pave the path for automation engineers to ensure repeatability in testing processes.
• Present designs and solutions to multiple teams, capturing feedback for consensus and alignment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
• 3+ years in a QA role with cloud computing or network security products.
• Experience in managing quality for large-scale projects.
• Ability to define and execute manual tests while paving the way for automation.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior Senior QA role with full ownership of quality for a product.
• Experience testing SaaS applications end to end.
• Experience using AWS or other public cloud infrastructure for deployment and configuration.
• Experience testing products in Linux-based environments.
• Knowledge of networking basics and firewall policies.
• Ability to read programming code.
• Strong communication skills, particularly in clarifying software behavior.
• Ability to identify bugs and negative patterns/trends.
• Painstaking attention to detail, documentation, and process.
