The Digital IT Technical Specialist (Level 1) is responsible for the implementation and support of highly secure and resilient information technology solutions and is considered a subject matter expert. Accountable for delivery of technical systems/solutions, plus the architecture and documentation within their area of technical expertise, supporting enterprise and global environments while focused on continuous improvement in support of the IT strategic vision and roadmap. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. This role will be responsible for leading our software quality assurance efforts, focusing on automated testing, API testing, performance testing, and managing offshore QA engineers. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Agile methodologies, CI/CD development practices, and customer-facing applications. This position does not have direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Lead software quality assurance efforts focusing on automated testing, API testing, and performance testing.
  • Manage a team of offshore QA developers, coordinating tasks and ensuring the quality of their outputs.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using various technology and tools.
  • Conduct performance testing to ensure systems can handle expected load and respond promptly to user interactions.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps for planning, tracking, and coordinating testing efforts.
  • Work within an Agile framework to integrate quality assurance activities into development and release cycles.
  • Collaborate closely with the development team, product management, and stakeholders to ensure customer-facing applications meet high standards of quality and usability.
  • Identify, log, and track bugs to resolution, working closely with the development team.
  • Develop and maintain QA metrics for assessing the quality of delivered application features and functionality.
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations.

Requirements

  • 4-year University / College Degree or significant technical certifications.
  • Five or more years' experience in Information Technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional and strong relationships with business partners, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and can apply those processes to everyday work.
  • Experience in security best practices and compliance requirements for area of expertise.

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to acceptance test-driven development (ATDD) and/or test-driven development (TDD) preferred.
