About the position

The Senior Quality Assurance Tester will join the Application Operations team at ITility, focusing on the creation, maintenance, and management of test plans, test suites, and test cases for both manual and automated testing. This role supports the modernization of enterprise applications for the USMEPCOM, a command within the U.S. Department of Defense, ensuring that products meet business and technical requirements while fostering a positive user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and manage test plans, test suites, and test cases within a test management system.
  • Execute manual or automated testing using documented test cases as determined by the test plan.
  • Maintain a customer service-oriented approach when collaborating with team members and partners.
  • Work with modern automation frameworks for web and mobile applications.
  • Utilize Selenium, AWS cloud architecture, and tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Report and track bugs for every release until closure.
  • Communicate proactively in both technical and business settings.
  • Mentor junior candidates on testing and automation practices.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to pass and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related IT discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Tester performing automated scripting using Java and Selenium framework.
  • Working knowledge of an automation framework (e.g., BDD or Test NG).
  • Knowledge of automation reporting tools (e.g., Cucumber).
  • Familiarity with deployment tools like Jenkins and experience in AWS environments.
  • 2+ years of experience with performance tools (e.g., JMeter).
  • 2+ years of experience in REST API testing with tools (e.g., POSTMAN).
  • Knowledge of SQL for validating Database objects.
  • Minimum of 2+ years on an Agile Software Development team deploying bi-weekly Sprints.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with mentoring junior testers.
  • Familiarity with additional testing tools and frameworks.
