The Senior Qualitative Research Analyst at the University of Chicago is a specialized research professional who plays a crucial role in enhancing patient-centered care for underserved patients with chronic diseases. This position is situated within the Press Lab group, which focuses on developing, evaluating, and implementing interventions aimed at improving chronic disease management. The analyst will work closely with the clinical Principal Investigator (PI) and a physician-led team to conduct qualitative research that informs clinical practice and quality improvement initiatives. The role involves leading the development of qualitative data collection materials, conducting interviews and focus groups, and analyzing qualitative data to derive meaningful insights that can be translated into actionable strategies for patient care. In this position, the Senior Qualitative Research Analyst will be responsible for managing several ongoing studies, ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations, and supporting the administrative and operational aspects of research projects. This includes developing standard procedures for project staff, critically editing research outputs, and facilitating interactions with study participants and collaborators. The analyst will also be involved in training other staff members in qualitative methods and assisting external collaborators with technical challenges related to data collection. The role requires a strong foundation in qualitative research methodologies, including the development of data collection tools and the use of qualitative analysis software. The analyst will coordinate and oversee the execution of qualitative research projects, maintain data quality assurance, and manage project timelines and budgets. Additionally, the analyst will present research findings at various forums and contribute to the development of future grant proposals, thereby playing a vital role in advancing the research agenda of the Press Lab.
