About the position

The Quality Assurance Analyst at Mid-Continent Group plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through rigorous testing and analysis. This position requires a blend of independent work and collaboration within a team, engaging with developers, business analysts, and the user community to deliver high-quality software solutions. The analyst will be responsible for performing moderately complex test planning, developing test cases and procedures, and managing various testing functions. In this role, the Quality Assurance Analyst will analyze user story requirements and acceptance criteria to ensure comprehensive test coverage. They will create and execute testing documentation, including plans, conditions, and test results, based on user story requirements and user acceptance criteria. The analyst will also be tasked with writing and maintaining test automation scripts, conducting software tests to verify proper operation, and ensuring freedom from defects, including scalability and load testing. The position involves performing regression testing, both manual and automated, to ensure that existing functionalities remain intact after changes are made. The Quality Assurance Analyst will document any problems encountered during testing and coordinate resolutions with the development team. Additionally, they will maintain and develop business knowledge and customer relationships, devise improvements to current procedures, and develop models for potential future configurations. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the team and the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform software development testing both independently and as part of a team.
  • Interact with developers, business analysts, and the user community.
  • Conduct moderately complex test planning and test case/procedure development.
  • Manage test management functions and tasks.
  • Analyze user story requirements, acceptance criteria, and test coverage.
  • Create and execute various testing documentation based on user story requirements.
  • Write and maintain test automation scripts.
  • Test software for proper operation and freedom from defects, including scalability and load testing.
  • Perform regression testing, both manual and automated.
  • Ensure adequate product testing prior to implementation according to established standards.
  • Maintain test cases and performance test results.
  • Document problems and coordinate resolutions with the development team.
  • Maintain and develop business knowledge and customer relationships.
  • Devise improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configurations.

Requirements

  • Generally, 5+ years of related experience is required.
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops and Microsoft Test Manager.
  • Familiarity with SQL Query and ServiceNow.
  • Experience with IBMi and Data Warehouse/Financial testing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and Test Driven Development.
  • Experience with Test Automation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) certification.
  • Certified Software Test Engineer (CSTE) certification.
  • Experience with Leapwork Automated Regression Test Tool.
