About the position

As a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst at the National Futures Association (NFA), you will be an integral part of a high-performing team dedicated to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of NFA's applications. Your role will involve utilizing your technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and keen attention to detail to support NFA's critical regulatory mission. From your first day, you will engage in activities that require critical thinking and decision-making skills, contributing to the integrity of the derivatives markets and the protection of investors. In this position, you will coordinate testing efforts and complete quality assurance tasks to ensure that all software programs and integrated applications meet or exceed the minimum organizational standards and end-user requirements. Your responsibilities will include coordinating, documenting, and executing NFA systems testing, as well as succinctly reporting to management on the status of all phases of testing for each project. This includes developing, executing, and passing test cases while providing supporting details for each phase. You will also be responsible for reviewing, executing, and documenting regression test plans, designing and deploying effective automated testing solutions, and supporting the overall software development life cycle. This involves reviewing business requirement documents to ensure that requirements can be tested properly and leveraging these documents, along with technical specifications and subject matter expert input, to write comprehensive test plans. Additionally, you will maintain detailed and accurate issue logs, monitoring them for resolution and closure of issues, ensuring that the software meets the highest quality standards before deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating, documenting and executing NFA systems testing.
  • Reporting to management on the status of all phases of testing for each project, including test cases developed, executed and passed, and providing supporting details.
  • Reviewing, executing and documenting regression test plans.
  • Designing, building, testing and deploying effective automated testing solutions and strategy.
  • Supporting the overall software development life cycle by reviewing business requirement documents to ensure requirements can be tested properly.
  • Writing test plans leveraging business requirements documents, technical specifications, and subject matter expert input.
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate issue logs and monitoring them for resolution and closure of issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in a related field.
  • Eight or more years of experience in software QA, preferably for web-based technologies requiring data validation and back-end processing.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and automated testing tools.
  • Experience with SQL and/or Microsoft Access.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience testing in multiple parallel software initiatives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Tricentis Tosca preferred.
  • Experience with agile methodology and scrum framework preferred.
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio preferred.
  • Coding experience with C# preferred.
  • Knowledge of finance, auditing, futures and/or derivatives regulation preferred.

Benefits

  • Temp-to-perm position with an hourly rate of $56.92-$85.29.
