About the position

The Senior Quality Automation Engineer (SDET) role at Equifax involves being an individual contributor responsible for ensuring the quality of both frontend and backend software components. This position requires a strong understanding of QA practices, automation framework development, and a passion for delivering exceptional end-user experiences. The engineer will work within a distributed team to develop and deliver a comprehensive data operations management solution for Equifax's Data Fabric Platform, focusing on quality assurance, testing, and compliance with engineering standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans to verify requirements for software components.
  • Conduct quality control tests to ensure compliance with specified standards.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve service quality through rigorous testing and release procedures.
  • Document issues in an issues log and retest to ensure problems are resolved.
  • Create test files to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement changes to enhance software quality engineering strategies.
  • Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and other agile activities.
  • Write technical documentation, support guides, and run books.
  • Ensure software meets secure development guidelines and engineering standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud-native application development with solid knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes in a cloud-based environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in frontend and backend software testing in a TDD/BDD environment using technologies such as JUnit, Rest Assured, and Appium.
  • 5+ years of general proficiency with Java, particularly in writing test cases.
  • 3+ years of experience with Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, or modern web application development frameworks.
  • Understanding of modular systems, performance, scalability, and security.
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools including Jenkins/Bamboo.

Nice-to-haves

  • ETL/ELT experience in big data processing.
  • Bash shell scripting in Linux/Unix environments.
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud technologies.
