About the position

As a Senior Quality Automation Engineer on the Retirement Strategy Institutional Technology team at Prudential, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and modernizing Retirement products. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to integrate tools and frameworks for automated testing, designing complex test infrastructures, and implementing innovative solutions to address sophisticated business challenges. Your contributions will help create resilient applications that improve customer experiences while fostering a culture of continuous learning and agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Follow best practices for testing approach and scenarios to automate functional and non-functional tests; remove complex technical impediments.
  • Leverage and extend testing frameworks as required, focusing on a wide variety of testing techniques and writing reusable scripts/tools for automation.
  • Validate requirements to assure overall quality, continually perform regression testing, and apply exploratory and risk-based testing.
  • Provide guidance to the team and coach others, embedding learning and innovation in day-to-day activities.
  • Work on complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of various factors using programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes for sound decision-making in the company's context.
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Applied experience with core testing tools, including unit, interface, and end-user testing concepts and tooling.
  • Understanding of security impacts and how testing can ensure security, including integration into DevOps (DevSecOps).

Nice-to-haves

  • Financial/Insurance industry knowledge is a plus, not a must.
