About the position

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (Level 3) will be responsible for developing, modifying, and maintaining quality evaluation and control systems within the Advance Development Programs (ADP) at Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works in Palmdale, CA. This role involves collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure quality standards are met, designing and implementing inspection and testing processes, and performing data analysis to identify corrective actions and improvement opportunities. The position requires a strong background in quality engineering methodologies and a commitment to maintaining high reliability standards in documentation and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems for specified programs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing counterparts to ensure quality requirements are achieved.
  • Design and implement inspection and testing processes based on business case analysis.
  • Perform data analysis to identify corrective actions and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and documentation compliance.
  • Specialize in areas such as design, production control, process analysis, product evaluation, or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in STEM.
  • Minimum 5 years of aerospace experience or similar aeronautical background.
  • Quality engineering experience.
  • Experience with subsystems installation and system checkouts.
  • Metrics development, process analysis, and root cause analysis experience.
  • Experience using MS Excel for trending and analytics.
  • Experience developing inspection plans.
  • FAI experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • ASQ Certification.
  • Knowledge of AS9100.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP, QADS, and SFM.
  • Six Sigma/Lean Certification.
  • Fluent in MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) expertise.
  • Experience with product development lifecycle.
