About the position

The Senior Quality Engineer role at Rogers Corporation is pivotal in enhancing customer satisfaction by managing customer complaints and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position is responsible for ensuring that quality objectives are met while assisting in the accuracy of defect detection and the correction or improvement of products and processes. The Senior Quality Engineer will lead the development, implementation, and verification of products and processes that comply with both internal and external customer and regulatory quality requirements. In this role, the engineer will participate in the improvement of the manufacturing process by conducting studies to identify problems and providing solutions or recommendations. They will implement corrective and preventive actions to enhance product yield and quality. The engineer will analyze defective products and processes to determine root causes and provide input on corrective actions to prevent future failures. Additionally, they will perform internal and external audits on products and processes to ensure compliance with specifications and will review and approve various quality documentation. Collaboration is key in this position, as the Senior Quality Engineer will interact with other departments, suppliers, and customers to drive improvement activities and ensure that products and processes meet or exceed customer expectations. They will lead investigations into quality issues and customer complaints to resolve these issues and eliminate the risk of recurrence. Furthermore, the engineer will support the qualification of new products, processes, and equipment through data collection and analysis, and will maintain the quality systems standard. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the overall quality objectives of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the improvement of the manufacturing process by conducting studies to identify problems and providing solutions and/or recommendations and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
  • Analyze defective product and/or processes to determine root cause and provide input on corrective/preventive actions to prevent future failures.
  • Implement solutions to improve yield.
  • Perform internal and external audits on product/processes to ensure compliance to specifications.
  • Review and approve various quality documentation.
  • Interact with other departments, suppliers and customers to drive improvement activities and ensure product and processes meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Lead quality and customer complaint root cause investigations for resolution of quality issues and eliminating problems from re-occurrence.
  • Support qualification of new product, processes and/or equipment through collection and data analysis.
  • Support maintenance of the quality systems standard.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field (equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
  • 6+ years of quality experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience with quality systems standards.
  • Experience with statistical software and/or other quality tools.
