About the position

The Senior Quality Engineer - Metrology and Calibration at Form Energy plays a crucial role in ensuring that all products meet customer and company requirements. This position focuses on developing quality processes and methodologies, driving continual product and process improvements, and collaborating with various teams to enhance quality and reliability in manufacturing. The role is hands-on, requiring expertise in advanced metrology equipment and inspection methods, and is integral to the production of innovative iron-air battery technology.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Design/Manufacturing Engineering and Suppliers to establish systems and processes for high-performing and quality products.
  • Support measurement and inspection for product quality and control plans.
  • Establish and report metrology performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with Design/Manufacturing Engineering to determine appropriate measurement methods.
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of manufacturing quality issues.
  • Analyze and publish measurement results for cross-functional team members.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities with Design/Manufacturing Engineering and external Suppliers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in quality engineering, particularly in metrology and calibration.
  • Strong understanding of chemical-electro-mechanical assemblies and their manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with advanced metrology equipment and inspection methods.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the energy technology sector or battery manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with quality control plans and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
