About the position

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for applying advanced quality engineering principles to solve quality problems and develop, implement, and monitor quality systems and processes. This role collaborates closely with manufacturing operations and engineering teams to enhance productivity while ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements such as AS9100, ISO9001, CFR, and FAA.

Responsibilities

  • Identify technical opportunities and recommend programs important to the business.
  • Collect data, conduct evaluations and tests to identify defective components and products.
  • Provide support in executing all requirements of established systems.
  • Coordinate and manage resolution of problems using advanced methodologies.
  • Identify, develop, and establish systems for company-wide compliance with regulations.
  • Act as project leader and provide direct quality support to manufacturing operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on yield improvement and process standardization.
  • Lead and manage product and process audits to ensure compliance and implement improvements.
  • Participate in FMEA reviews and assist in developing risk mitigation solutions.
  • Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions for customer returns.
  • Support production development and validation activities to meet design and quality requirements.
  • Assist in execution of PPAP / APQP for new products.
  • Understand industry standards and ensure compliance throughout the business.
  • Support MRB in processing and dispositioning nonconforming products.
  • Implement methods to inspect, test, and evaluate manufacturing processes and products.

Requirements

  • Technical Bachelor's Degree or 5-8 years' experience in a technical field related to manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a quality engineer in a manufacturing discipline.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in root cause corrective action methods such as 8D problem solving.
  • Qualified to work in an ITAR regulated environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Proficient in using Minitab.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration, action focus, and customer focus skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and react to shifting priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Auditing experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aerospace Standards.
  • Knowledge and experience with inspection and test methods.
  • Knowledge and experience with Statistical Process Control.
