About the position

The Senior Quantitative Financial Analyst - Consumer Credit Risk at Bank of America is responsible for conducting quantitative analytics and complex modeling projects specifically for consumer credit risk. This role involves leading the development of new models, creating technical documentation, and collaborating with technology staff to design systems for model implementation. The analyst will also influence strategic direction and develop tactical plans to enhance risk management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Performs end-to-end market risk stress testing including scenario design, implementation, results consolidation, and analysis of stress scenario results.
  • Leads the planning related to setting quantitative work priorities in line with the bank's overall strategy.
  • Identifies continuous improvements through reviews of model development and validation tasks, providing critical feedback on technical documentation.
  • Maintains oversight of model development and model risk management to support business requirements and risk appetite.
  • Provides methodological, analytical, and technical guidance to influence strategic direction and identify potential risks.
  • Works closely with model stakeholders and senior management regarding submission and validation outcomes.
  • Performs statistical analysis on large datasets and interprets results using qualitative and quantitative approaches.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in model development, statistical methods, forecast methods, data analytics, or quantitative research.
  • Experience in Risk, Credit, Collections, or Financial Operations with a track record of generating insights that improve performance.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, able to cater to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Proficiency with Tableau, MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience meeting with internal or external bank examiners and responding to questions in a timely manner.
  • Previous demonstrated strong leadership or project management experience.
  • Consumer behavior analytics or risk modeling experience in a financial institution.
  • Programming skills (SQL, Python, R, LaTeX).
  • Experience with CECL, DFAST, CCAR forecast methodologies.
