This position involves deep technical work in a collaborative environment, focusing on the design, simulation, and layout of high-performance CMOS analog circuits. The engineer will contribute to the technical direction of the research based on system and block design ideas, experimental results, and cross-functional input, ultimately influencing the development of scalable quantum computing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the architecture, specification, design, test, and development of CryoCMOS functions and ASICs to support full-stack quantum hardware implementations.
  • Design, simulate, and layout full-custom circuits dedicated to quantum device control and readout.
  • Design, simulate, and layout full-custom high-performance CMOS analog circuits and complex analog functional blocks such as ADCs, DACs, PLLs, VCOs, SerDes, RF building blocks, and auxiliary/supporting blocks.
  • Perform physical verification including DRC, LVS, ERC, and IR drop analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with digital, architecture, and cryogenics teams to optimize design trade-offs.
  • Document designs comprehensively and contribute to publications in scientific literature.
  • Design and characterize hardware and software setups for testing developed ASICs.
  • Conduct cryogenic and room temperature measurements of ASICs and analyze and report measurement results.
  • Follow lab best practices and protocols, ensuring health and safety policies are adhered to.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in industry or in a research and development environment OR Master's Degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience OR Doctorate in Physics, Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in design, simulation, and layout of full-custom high-performance CMOS analog circuits.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years of industry experience in analog design delivering complex solutions.
  • Experience with EDA software for analog and mixed-signal design and simulation (Virtuoso suite).
  • Understanding of digital design, simulation, and verification (Verilog/SystemVerilog/NCSim/VHDL/VCS).
