About the position

Sonic Healthcare USA is the largest medical laboratory in the world and the third largest in the United States. As part of our strategic shift towards becoming a competitive player in technology, we have developed a web application called LabIS, which aims to set the gold standard for workflow and information management across all our laboratory operations. We are currently seeking a Senior React Developer to join the LabIS team, with opportunities available in Dallas, TX, Austin, TX, or remotely within the United States. In this role, you will engage in greenfield development of an enterprise laboratory information system, focusing on creating automated environment deployment solutions using technologies such as Kubernetes, Jenkins, and S3. You will be responsible for developing features that enhance our business operations through real-time feedback loops, utilizing a tech stack that includes React, Bootstrap, JQuery, SAML, OIDC, Auth0, SCSS, CSS, and Flexbox. Your responsibilities will encompass planning and design, where you will collaborate with peers and key stakeholders to conceptualize new software applications and upgrades to existing ones. You will be expected to apply Test Driven Development (TDD) practices to ensure the functionality and stability of the applications you develop. Additionally, you will work closely with support teams to triage defects and participate in efforts to reduce technical debt, all while maintaining a focus on user experience and security as mandated by HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with peers and key stakeholders to create conceptual designs for new software applications and upgrades to existing software applications.
  • Comfortable with working in organizationally provided UI standards.
  • Assign complexity estimations to features.
  • Apply Test Driven Development (TDD) practices to compose unit and integration tests, ensuring proper functionality and stability.
  • Develop and use code based on reusable components best practices.
  • Deliver clean, readable code that meets requirements.
  • Follow team standards for development practices.
  • Provide appropriate documentation of development work.
  • Collaborate with teammates on every task.
  • Subject all features to manual testing to ensure acceptance criteria are met with a focus on user experience.
  • Participate in peer review on every task.
  • Work with support teams to understand and triage defects as they arise.
  • Participate in efforts to reduce technical debt.
  • Be available to address emergency issues in a 24/7 healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of React development experience.
  • Excellent problem solver, with a focus on team success.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally across multiple teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of various SQL languages and Git.
