Bessemer Trust is seeking a Senior Real Estate Asset Manager to join our Wealth Planning department in Los Angeles, CA. This role is pivotal in managing and advising on a diverse portfolio of real estate assets, which may include residential single-family homes, apartments, retail spaces, industrial properties, office buildings, net leased assets, ranches, timberland, and vacant land. As a fiduciary, we are committed to managing family homes and real estate investments across all asset classes, ensuring that we meet the unique capital demands of our clients and help them achieve their specific investment goals over generations. The Senior Real Estate Asset Manager will report directly to the Head of Real Estate Advisory and will play a crucial role in providing highly customized solutions in a confidential setting, reflecting our status as an industry leader in wealth management. In this position, the Senior Real Estate Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of assets, working closely with clients and co-fiduciaries on the purchase and sale of real property. This includes conducting thorough market due diligence, engaging real estate brokers and attorneys, establishing pricing, negotiating relevant documents, and managing the administration of transactions through to closing. The role also involves overseeing capital improvement and repair projects, recommending and managing relevant professionals and vendors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, the asset manager will be responsible for the management of commercial investments, collaborating with third-party partners and property managers to ensure that our clients' interests are represented effectively. The successful candidate will also negotiate lease agreements with both residential and commercial tenants, ensuring compliance with lease terms, including rent, escalations, options, and insurance obligations. Close collaboration with the Operations team is essential to ensure adherence to regulatory compliance, policy, and efficiency in departmental transactions. This position requires a results-driven individual who is a motivated self-starter, with excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and communication skills, as well as a keen attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fiduciary responsibilities and a deep understanding of the real estate market.
