About the position

The Senior Real Estate Investment Analyst will leverage their financial and analytical skills to enhance the asset management, leasing, development, budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial performance of Northgate Real Estate properties across the Western States. This position is based in Anaheim, California, and requires a strong focus on financial analysis and strategic planning to maximize revenue growth and value creation for the company's real estate portfolio. In this role, the analyst will work extensively with financial modeling tools such as Argus, Excel, and Yardi to create, modify, and ensure the accuracy of budgets and deal analytics. They will be responsible for preparing and maintaining working budgets and pro formas for new developments and acquisitions, as well as conducting lease-related financial analyses, including NPV, credit, and NOI analyses. Collaboration with various teams, including real estate, accounting, leasing, property management, construction, and legal, is essential to develop and execute long-term asset strategies. The analyst will also identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of information used for decision-making. They will assist in preparing information for quarterly financial meetings and support analytical functions related to site selection, due diligence, leasing, property management, financing, construction, investor reporting, and dispositions. The role may also involve other duties and projects as required, making it a dynamic and integral part of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Work extensively in Argus, Excel, and Yardi to create, modify, and ensure the accuracy of budgets and deal analytics.
  • Prepare and maintain working budgets and pro formas for new developments and acquisitions.
  • Complete lease-related financial analyses such as NPV, credit, and NOI analyses.
  • Work closely with real estate and accounting teams to develop new analytical tools.
  • Collaborate with leasing, property management, construction, and legal teams to develop and execute long-term asset strategies to maximize revenue growth and value creation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and accuracy of information for decision-making.
  • Assist in preparing information used for quarterly financial meetings.
  • Assist in analytical functions of site selection, due diligence, leasing, property management, financing, construction, investor reporting, and dispositions.
  • Perform other duties and projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, finance, real estate, or related discipline required.
  • 2+ years' experience in financial analysis.
  • Possess exceptional Excel and Argus skills.
  • Ability to work under tight time constraints and extended hours as required.
  • Ability to understand budgeting and allocation of costs and basic principles of real estate finance and investment.
  • Knowledge of Yardi Software is a plus.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Well-developed mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and coordinate, manage, and communicate efficiently and effectively.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to solve unstructured problems where the goal is clear but the methodology is undefined.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Yardi Software is a plus.
  • Spanish proficiency is a plus.
