About the position

The position will be based in Itasca, IL. The role involves taking ownership and leading the development of comprehensive strategic real estate plans for the Division. The candidate will initiate and complete real estate transactions, prepare investment packages, coordinate negotiations, and engage with real estate brokers and consultants. The position requires staying informed on market dynamics and representing the company in discussions with governmental bodies. Leadership and mentorship of less experienced personnel may also be part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Takes ownership and lead responsibility for development of comprehensive strategic real estate plans for Division.
• Initiates and completes real estate transactions of varying types and degrees of difficulty.
• Prepares high quality and accurate investment packages for Real Estate Committee.
• Coordinates all negotiations and collaborates with team attorney to finalize deal documentation.
• Engages and interfaces with real estate brokers and other 3rd party consultants.
• Works closely with the design and planning team and construction manager.
• Stays well versed on market dynamics in assigned territory.
• Represents the Company in discussions and negotiations with Planning Commissions and City Councils.
• Provides leadership and mentors less experienced real estate personnel.

Requirements

• 5+ years of extensive and relevant experience in corporate real estate, shopping center development, and/or real estate with major retailer.
• Bachelor's degree required with emphasis in Real Estate, Finance, or General Business. MBA preferred.
• Proactive self-starter with an owner/investor/developer attitude.
• Superior expertise in real estate concepts and documentation.
• Highly developed market analysis skills.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate multi-million dollar transactions.
• Knowledge of local and regional real estate activities and land use regulations.
• Proficiency in Arc/GIS and MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
