About the position

Responsibilities

• Assist in the repair and overhaul of refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment.
• Provide service by repairing and overhauling equipment such as compressors, water pumps, and air handlers.
• Conduct general repair work on various HVAC equipment including air conditioning units and gas furnaces.
• Perform preventative maintenance by diagnosing equipment malfunctions and deficiencies.
• Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and mechanical skills.
• Maintain accurate records of work history and job tickets.
• Support the department by processing work orders promptly.
• Pick up, deliver, and install equipment as needed.
• Engage in minor construction and remodeling projects, including new installations.
• Drive company vehicle safely and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• EPA certification is required.
• Certification from an accredited vocational-technical or trade school is a plus.
• Minimum of 5+ years of commercial refrigeration experience required.
• Experience with refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with single systems and rack systems, as well as experience with display cases and walk-in boxes.
• Good driving record and ability to work independently.
• Emergency on-call availability is required.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. without assistance and to sit or stand for several hours.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with HVAC-R systems.
• Knowledge of diagnostic and mechanical skills in the HVAC field.
