About the position

The Sales Manager at Shankar Distillers is responsible for overseeing sales operations, developing strategic sales plans, and managing a team of sales representatives. This role focuses on driving revenue growth through effective relationship management with distributors, retailers, and other stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement effective sales strategies to achieve regional sales targets and enhance market share.
• Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team, providing ongoing coaching and performance evaluations to ensure team effectiveness.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and retail partners to drive sales and improve customer satisfaction.
• Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to identify new business opportunities and competitive advantages.
• Oversee the regional sales budget, ensuring resource allocation aligns with strategic objectives.
• Prepare accurate sales forecasts and reports for upper management, providing insights on sales performance and market dynamics.
• Work closely with marketing and product development teams to ensure alignment on promotions, product launches, and branding efforts.
• Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
• 5+ years of sales experience in the liquor or beverage industry, with a proven track record of success.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing a sales team.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed business decisions.
• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
