The Senior Regional Portfolio Manager (Affordable Housing) at CONAM Management Corporation is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the operation of multiple apartment communities within the Sacramento, CA area. The Senior Regional Portfolio Manager will manage a team of Regional Portfolio Managers (RPMs) and ensure that all properties under their supervision meet performance standards and comply with regulatory requirements related to affordable housing programs. This role is essential for maintaining the quality and efficiency of property management operations, ensuring that all communities are not only compliant but also thriving in terms of occupancy and resident satisfaction. In this role, the Senior Regional Portfolio Manager will be expected to engage in proactive communication with the Regional Vice President (RVP) regarding any challenges or issues that arise within the portfolio. This includes developing strategies to mitigate potential risks and enhance the performance of the communities. The position also involves a significant amount of reporting, including financial variances, market analysis, and budget forecasting, which will be presented to owners and executive teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to mentor and lead property teams, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and development. The Senior Regional Portfolio Manager will spend approximately 75% of their time on-site, conducting weekly visits to the properties to ensure that they are operating smoothly and to provide hands-on support to the RPMs. This role requires a high level of comfort in public speaking and group presentations, as well as strong writing skills for reporting purposes. The successful candidate will also have experience in acquisition and disposition, as well as third-party management, which are critical for the ongoing success of the portfolio.
