About the position

The Senior Reimbursement Analyst plays a crucial role in performing third-party reimbursement services within Carilion Clinic. This position involves independent decision-making and communication with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with reimbursement regulations. The analyst will prepare reimbursement templates, analyze accounts, and support management in financial decision-making through detailed reports and estimates.

Responsibilities

• Perform third-party reimbursement services and communicate with personnel of various departments.
• Access and manage confidential patient data and salary information as needed.
• Support the preparation of monthly contractual allowance closings and filing of third-party cost reports.
• Develop estimates and reports significant to Carilion's financial statement accuracy and performance.
• Prepare reimbursement templates and analyze third-party accounts.
• Conduct data analysis for Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and other required filings.
• Review and prepare budgeted contractual adjustments.
• Coordinate with third-party auditors and provide requested information.
• Conduct reimbursement research and special projects as needed.
• Provide third-party reimbursement support to various management and staff.
• Assist in training new reimbursement and financial advisory staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or business administration with a concentration in finance/accounting.
• Minimum of five years of accounting or finance work experience, with at least three years in reimbursement, preferably in a hospital or third-party intermediary setting.
• Certified public accountant license preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Analytical skills and proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
