About the position

The Senior Customer Service Representative (Sr. CSR) at HomeStreet Bank is responsible for acquiring, retaining, and expanding customer relationships while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves assessing customer banking needs, recommending appropriate products, and performing various teller services. The Sr. CSR plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive customer experience and actively participates in sales activities to meet referral goals.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively interview and profile customers to recommend appropriate banking products and services.
  • Partner with other business lines to identify sales opportunities and enhance customer experience.
  • Process complex transactions such as account ownership changes and estate assignments.
  • Originate consumer loans and advocate for customers to ensure prompt processing.
  • Open and close various customer accounts including checking, savings, and IRAs.
  • Cross-sell bank products and services to meet customer needs and referral goals.
  • Set an example for customer service and advocacy among CSR staff.
  • Resolve difficult customer situations with creativity and professionalism.
  • Participate in community events to promote the bank and engage with customers.
  • Perform daily teller services including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a CSR/New Accounts Representative or equivalent.
  • Technical skills to operate teller software and other bank-related programs.
  • Strong customer relations skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience in retail banking or financial services.
  • Knowledge of consumer loan processing.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements.
