About the position

The Senior Representative, Supply Chain - Planning will play a crucial role in supporting the local site in sourcing indirect materials and services. This position is integral to the introduction of new indirect programs, evaluating the supply base, and implementing strategic initiatives that deliver value to Catalent. The focus will be on achieving cost savings, enhancing process improvements, fostering supplier innovation, and managing supplier relationships to gain competitive advantages and meet customer needs. In this role, the Senior Representative will identify and support both site-level and global procurement initiatives aimed at achieving cost savings, exploring contract opportunities, and mitigating risks associated with single-sourced materials. The representative will participate in and support new product and program launches, influencing sourcing decisions and ensuring that materials are purchased in alignment with project timelines. Routine deep spend analysis will be performed to understand indirect spend variances and identify cost reduction opportunities through collaboration with Category Management. The representative may also lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at reducing costs and improving quality for both internal and external customers. Collaboration with local teams and Global Procurement will be essential for supplier selection, negotiation, and contract implementation. The representative will negotiate pricing and contracts, ensuring compliance with established agreements. Additionally, the role involves processing requisitions and placing orders with approved suppliers to obtain necessary materials and services to support product launches, dual sourcing efforts, and cost-saving initiatives. The representative will also provide support in determining the root causes of poor vendor performance and late deliveries, ensuring that the supply chain operates smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Business, Finance, Engineering, Sciences, Purchasing, or other operations field.
  • 5+ years of purchasing, global operations, finance, and matrix management experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of experience.
  • Previous GMP experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand English-written job instructions and safety requirements.
