About the position

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a potential need for a Senior Research Administrative Professional (Program Manager) to support our government customer located in San Diego, California. This position involves providing administrative support during the Strategic Plan development for furthering the basic and applied research and development agenda. The services include assisting the government with preparation of command meetings, developing program reviews, drafting high-level briefings, reviewing scientific program documentation, and making recommendations for program/project improvement. The role also includes program integration services, support for Principal Investigators (PIs), writing and preparation of Command documents, facilitation services, and coordinating communications and events to strengthen collaboration between the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) and various entities on research opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support during the Strategic Plan development for research and development agenda.
  • Assist the government with preparation of command meetings and development of program reviews.
  • Draft high-level briefings in accordance with Command policy and format.
  • Review scientific program documentation and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide program integration services to meet Command objectives.
  • Assist with program execution and analytical disciplines to support Principal Investigators (PIs).
  • Write and prepare medical, technical, and scientific Command documents for publication.
  • Facilitate tasks needed to meet command objectives and strategies.
  • Coordinate communications and events to strengthen collaboration on research opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in health promotion, public health, psychology, community health nursing or a health-related profession.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a health research environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with grant requests and research administration.
  • Knowledge and experience in coordinating site visits to track and analyze programs.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience developing and analyzing needs assessments for program planning.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience organizing and participating in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Effective communication and public speaking skills.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience designing, facilitating, and conducting tasker responses.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience gathering and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Willing to sign a Non-Disclosure agreement.
