About the position

LMI is seeking a Senior Research Analyst for on-site work in the National Capital Region. This position is part of the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering's Rapid Defense Experimentation Reserve (RDER) initiative, which focuses on accelerating technologies through the development pipeline from prototypes to validated military capabilities. The RDER initiative is crucial in verifying the production readiness and operational utility of prototypes, as well as recommending the most promising technologies for production. Given the sensitive nature of the work, this position requires an Active Top Secret or TS clearance with SCI eligibility. As a Senior Research Analyst, you will be integral to supporting Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTMLPF-P) risk-to-transition analyses for RDER projects. The role demands strong research skills to acquire information about Department of Defense (DoD) technologies, training, experiments, organizations, and doctrine. You will also need to possess strong analytical abilities to identify trends and draw conclusions from data. The position involves preparing finished analytical products, including briefings and technical reports, and may require travel to and/or work from various government facilities in the National Capital Region, such as the Pentagon and Mark Center. Some travel outside the National Capital Region may also be necessary to attend events and interview stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare finished analytical products, including briefings and technical reports.
  • Travel to and/or work from government facilities in the National Capital Region, including the Pentagon and Mark Center.
  • Attend events and interview stakeholders as required.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a field that requires research and writing.
  • 10-15 years of experience leading and conducting research and analysis of written materials and through interviews.
  • Demonstrable advanced research, critical thinking, analysis, and writing experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and willing to work as part of a team.
  • Active Top Secret or TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
