The Section of Allergy, Immunology and Pediatric Pulmonology at the University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to support its expanding research and laboratory initiatives. This position is integral to the department's mission of providing exceptional care to children with allergies, asthma, and various pulmonary disorders. The Senior Research Analyst will play a pivotal role in the research team, serving as a co-investigator on clinical trials and other investigator-initiated research projects. This role involves overseeing lab and data analysis, managing research data, and collaborating closely with clinical research coordinators to ensure the smooth operation of clinical trials. In this position, the Senior Research Analyst will apply their knowledge of research principles and relevant subject matter to administer research projects effectively. They will be responsible for developing, designing, and conducting research projects according to established plans, supporting the data collection and analytical needs of these projects. The analyst will conduct literature reviews, assist in writing reports and manuscripts, and utilize statistical software such as SAS, SPSS, and R to perform data analyses. Ensuring compliance with various policies and procedures is also a critical aspect of this role. The Senior Research Analyst will work in a laboratory setting, handling patient samples, which includes preparation and storage. They will also take on non-laboratory duties such as transcribing and coding data, developing data collection instruments, presenting research findings, and recruiting and scheduling research subjects. The role requires a commitment to acquiring higher-level skills and knowledge throughout the process. Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for laboratory duties, including recognizing abnormal results and adjusting procedures as necessary, setting up and performing experiments, and analyzing the significance of research findings. Other related tasks may be assigned as needed.
