About the position

The Senior Research Analyst at the University of Chicago's Ci3 research center plays a crucial role in scientific research projects focused on sexual and reproductive health. This position involves collaborating with a research team to design and execute studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory policies, and analyzing data using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The analyst will lead various research initiatives, contributing to grant proposals, literature reviews, and manuscript writing, while also engaging with diverse communities to improve access to health services.

Responsibilities

  • Supports lead investigators in day-to-day implementation of planned studies using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Supports IRB protocol development and ensures study compliance with institutional and regulatory guidelines.
  • Supports quantitative data collection and analysis, including drafting study instruments and managing data.
  • Supports qualitative data collection and analysis, including drafting interview guides and recruiting participants.
  • Contributes to grant proposals and reporting, and conducts literature reviews.
  • Helps write reports and manuscripts for publication, ensuring project compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Takes responsibility for transcribing and coding data, developing data collection instruments, and presenting research findings.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum college or university degree in a related field.
  • 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, public health, social work, social sciences, or a relevant field.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., MPH, MPP, MA).
  • Research experience, preferably in sexual and reproductive health.
  • Basic familiarity with quantitative analysis approaches and software (e.g. R, SPSS, Stata).
  • Experience managing research projects.
  • Background contributing to research manuscripts, reports, or publications.
