About the position

The Senior Research Analyst, Lead position at AMERICAN SYSTEMS involves providing technical literacy in critical Department of Defense (DOD) technology areas for the Joint Acquisition Protection and Exploitation Cell (JAPEC). The role requires expertise in DOD critical technology areas, integration of classified intelligence products, and collaboration with interagency teams to enhance the safeguarding of military technology. The analyst will conduct research, synthesize information, and lead the development of risk assessments to support DOD operations.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the technical literacy of critical DOD technology areas for JAPEC.
• Understand and relay the scope, status, and ecosystem of two or more DOD critical technology areas.
• Serve as an integrator of classified intelligence products and open source research literature.
• Research cutting edge science related to intelligence reporting and synthesize comprehensive views for JAPEC leadership.
• Proactively identify breakthrough technology for military systems and technology convergence.
• Collaborate across interagency teams to fortify America's approach to safeguarding science and technology.
• Crosswalk adversary technology status with current research cadence.

Requirements

• MS or higher degree required in a STEM field.
• 8 - 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Secret clearance required; TS and SCI eligibility preferred.
• Proclivity for literature research and data evaluation.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong team orientation and ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to be on-site for classified work and meetings.
• Proactive, organized, and mission-driven approach.
