About the position

The Senior Research Analyst at the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) plays a crucial role in supporting the agency's mission to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for Oregon's multilingual students. This position involves data collection, analysis, and reporting to assist in school and district accountability, focusing on various federal and state educational programs. The analyst will work within the Office of Research, Assessment, Data, Accountability, and Reporting (RADAR) to ensure data-driven decision-making and promote equity in education.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data collection, analysis, and reporting in support of RADAR's school and district accountability and data reporting.
  • Execute routine collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of data collections.
  • Provide data support for federal and state educational programs, including ESEA Title IA, Title IIA, McKinney-Vento Act, and state-required Physical Education collections.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with six-quarter units in statistics or quantitative analysis methods and three years of experience using computerized applications to gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare reports.
  • Two of the three years must include coordinating complex research projects.
  • Alternatively, five years of research experience with two years coordinating complex research projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, SQL, and statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, R, or similar products; experience with Tableau is beneficial.
  • Strong project management skills and experience in scoping and directing large-scale projects.
  • Ability to convert broad concepts into guidance or policy.
  • Experience in oral presentations and presentation software.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and diverse data presentation modes.
  • Familiarity with culturally responsive and equitable evaluation methods.
  • Ability to solicit and value diverse viewpoints and collaborate across various stakeholders.
